VERY IMPORTANT: All communication about the LAP process will be sent by email, so it is crucial that your correct email address is listed on your TU National membership record. If it is not listed or is not correct, you will NOT receive the information you need to complete the LAP sign up process. Please go to this website www.tu.org/login and verify your email address listed is the correct one!
STEP 1 – MEMBERSHIP EXPIRATION DATE – DEADLINE TO COMPLETE JULY 31st
- Anyone interested in being eligible to participate in the upcoming LAP season MUST have a TU membership record that is valid through at least October 31, 2027 or have a LIFE membership record with TU.
Members have until July 31, 2026 to renew their TU membership record if it is not valid through at least October 31, 2027. Members are responsible for verifying their membership expiration date by visiting this link tu.org/login and check under membership details for their membership expiration date. Members can renew their membership from that same link. Each renewal will add an additional 12 months to your expiration date, so you can renew at any time. Do not wait until July 31st to do this please!
NOTE: If your current expiration date is before October 31, 2026, you will need to renew your membership TWICE (which will add 24 months to your membership) in order to have a valid record through at least October 31, 2027! - After July 31, ONLY TU Members with a LIFE membership or TU Members that have a membership record with an expiration date of October 31, 2027 or later will be allowed to move on to Step 2 of the LAP Process!
YOU WILL NOT BE ELGIBLE TO CONTINUE THE PROCESS IF YOU FAIL TO MEET THE MEMBERSHIP EXPIRATION DATE QUALIFICATION BY JULY 31ST!
STEP 2 – VALIDATION OF MEMBERSHIP – DEADLINE TO COMPLETE AUGUST 31st
- Beginning August 5th and ending August 31st, both Life TU Members and TU Members who completed Step 1 by July 31st MUST validate their membership record!
To validate your record and eligibility, go to the GRTU webpage, www.grtu.org, anytime between August 5th and August 31st and follow the instructions on the website. You will need to know your TU membership number to validate your record. You will also be required to enter your vehicle license plate number at this time.
If a member does not validate their record BEFORE August 31st, member WILL NOT be allowed to move on to Step 3.
STEP 3 – ORIENTATION
- ONLY Members who validated their membership record by August 31st (see Step 2) will be sent an invitation to register for one of the three LAP orientation meetings.
The invitation will be emailed to qualified members by September 5th. The invite will allow members to choose one of three dates to register for a live, online ZOOM orientation meeting during the month of September, between the 8th and 30th.
Members are REQUIRED to participate in one of the LAP orientation meetings before they can proceed to Step 4 and be eligible to purchase a LAP permit.
STEP 4 – LAP PERMIT SALE
- After completion of ONE of the Zoom orientation meetings, the member will qualify to receive a link via email and/or cell phone text on the date the LAP permits go on sale the first week of October. ONLY 800 LAP permits will be available this year on a first come, first serve basis. The cost of the permit is $200. A TU Individual membership is limited to only ONE LAP permit purchase. A TU Family membership may purchase up to TWO LAP permits for family adult members in the same household. Guest and youth passes will be available for $20 each with the purchase of a LAP permit. Guest and youth passes are limited to SIX each per year, per LAP permit.
- The 2026-2027 LAP Season will begin November 1, 2026 and end October 31, 2027.
