Troutfest TX 25 Recap

TFTX 25 Recap

A Celebration of Conservation, Community & Fly Fishing

Another unforgettable Troutfest TX is in the books! This year’s event brought together an incredible community of fly anglers, conservationists, and outdoor enthusiasts for a weekend filled with learning, camaraderie, and—let’s be honest—a whole lot of fun. Hosted by Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited (GRTU), Troutfest TX 25 was our biggest and best yet, thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, sponsors, and attendees.

Record-Breaking Attendance
This year’s event set a new high, with 3,400+ attendees on Saturday and over 1,800 on Sunday. The overwhelming support from the fly fishing and conservation community made this weekend truly special.

A Weekend to Remember
The festivities kicked off with Friday’s Banquet & Auction, where guests enjoyed great food, inspiring speakers, and awesome auction items. The auction helped raise crucial funds to support GRTU’s conservation and education programs while benefiting local partners in need.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Troutfest TX Expo featured an expanded roster of vendors, nonprofit partners, and industry experts. Attendees explored the latest gear, joined hands-on fly-tying demos, and learned from an all-star speaker lineup. Presenters like Jen Ripple, Maxine McCormick, Chris Johnson, and Kayla Lockhart shared expert insights on everything from trout behavior to casting techniques from a seven-time world champion. It is always an honor to have TU President & CEO Chris Wood join us, and his keynote address at the banquet was exceptional, as always.

We also made sure the next generation of anglers had a blast! Our Kids Zone featured the ever-popular Kids Trout Tank, live mermaids, fly-tying and knot-tying stations, and conservation activities designed to inspire young outdoor enthusiasts.

Giving Back
At its core, Troutfest TX is about conservation and community. This year, we were proud to highlight partnerships with Casting for Recovery, Project Healing Waters, Reel Recovery, and Texas Parks & Wildlife initiatives, among many others.

Thank You to Our Volunteers & Sponsors
An event of this scale wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, sponsors, and exhibitors. From setting up the expo to ensuring every detail ran smoothly, our volunteers made this event a success. A special thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, Sendero Provisions, whose generosity and commitment to conservation played a key role in making Troutfest TX 25 our best yet.

Looking Ahead to 2026
As we wrap up another successful Troutfest, we’re already setting our sights on TFTX 26, happening February 13-15, 2026! We encourage all GRTU members to stay engaged, volunteer, and continue supporting the work that makes our fishery and community so special.

Thank you for making Troutfest TX 25 an unforgettable experience—we can’t wait to see you on the water soon!
