GRTU Member Update

Hello Fellow GRTU Members! My name is Robilyn Pettit and I am serving as your GRTU Membership Chair. I am so excited to have this opportunity to work with our chapter and assist you with your membership needs as well as recruit many of you who would like to come alongside me and help in this endeavor!

GRTU is the largest chapter of Trout Unlimited with over 5500 plus members!! We are the ONLY chapter in the entire state of Texas! Communicating with that many members is a challenge, but it is critical for us to have a successful and impactful chapter. Our primary ways of communicating with you are the GRTU website, email and social media. If you are not receiving our chapter emails, it’s most likely that your email address with TU is not current and/or you have opted out of receiving emails when you joined TU. Please contact TU National at 1-800-834-2419 to update your email address and/or to notify them that you would like to update your email preference to receive chapter emails. You may also log in to your TU account at www.tu.org/login and update the information yourself! This login will also allow you to look up your membership details and see what type of membership you have, as well as when your membership expires.

Another way to connect with your fellow chapter members and stay current with your chapter’s happenings is to attend the chapter meetings! November 12th is the next chapter meeting. We understand the difficulty in attending if you do not live within a reasonable distance of the meeting, so with the help of GRTU’s Conservation Chair Chris Johnson, we were able to broadcast via ZOOM our Spring chapter meeting!! This will be a huge benefit moving forward, allowing members all over the state to attend the meetings no matter where they live! A big thank you goes out to Chris Johnson with Living Waters Fly Fishing for setting this up for our chapter!!

I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming events and assisting with your membership needs. I may be contacted at PettitR@grtu.flywheelsites.com. Please let me know if you would like to join me and serve on the Membership Committee. Some of the things we do are welcome new members into our chapter, man membership tables at events and let them know the many ways in which GRTU invest in our community, help members renew memberships, greet people who attend GRTU events, and much more!
