Message from the President

GRTU Cowgirl Trout

GRTU is pleased to bring our members the Late Summer/ Early Fall 2022 Newsletter.

Troutfest TX 23 planning is well underway and we are already sold out in the Main tent. This occurred in 30 days which is by far the quickest sell-out ever. Our Speaker lineup is the best we have ever offered to attendees with Hilary Hutcheson, Jako Lucas, George Daniel, Tiffany Yeates, Landon Mayer, Alice Owsley and Duane Redford scheduled to be here.  Troutfest TX is an all volunteer run event and as a major fly fishing show is an extremely time consuming endeavor for a very small group of GRTU volunteers. Thanks to all those who make this an excellent NATIONAL event and allow us to further TU’s mission and support so many worthy groups in addition. If you’d like to step up and volunteer, HERE is the Sign Up Genius link.

The Lease Access Program (LAP) was rolled out to members in June and continuing until now via email, Facebook and Instagram posts, a pop-up on every page of grtu.org, posts in the Forum and it was announced at the May Chapter Meeting to check grtu.org for updates. The initial verification of membership on grtu.org went completely smooth in terms of technology which was a big plus. Robilyn Pettit has done a fantastic job with revamping this program and may be contacted at pettitr@grtu.flywheelsites.com with any questions. Her article in this NL will explain the next steps. Thanks for stepping up Robilyn!

Please consider volunteering your time and talents with GRTU. We have less than 3% of our members who do so and as an all volunteer organization that number simply only allows for so much to get done. Even with that low number, I am amazed by the amount of high level programs and excellent results that are driven by this tiny sliver of our membership. We have an incredible group of “doers” and I am extremely grateful to them for their dedication and support.

Stay well and tight lines!

Tight Lines.

GRTU President
